Pembina Trails School Division, located in the "university district" of the City of Winnipeg, is proud to offer the longest-running and one of the largest international student programs in central Canada for students from 5 to 18 years of age.
The Pembina Trails International Student program is dedicated to offering students educational excellence through engaging and enriching experiences in a safe and caring community. We take special pride in the support we are able to provide our international students through a devoted ISP Team, a direct teacher liaison in every school, and our own Homestay Program which aligns with our program vision and goals.
We are committed to excellence in the academics, sports, and the arts. Our schools rank high in academic competitions and in the number of scholarships received each year by our graduating students. Our schools hold provincial championship titles for hockey, Canadian football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, curling, and cheerleading. Our film, art, music, and dance programs have been recognized both nationally and internationally.
We also place great emphasis on the cultural component of our program. Our full time Activities Facilitator plans and implements a wide variety of cultural activities, such as winter sleigh rides, visits to the polar bear exhibit, and canoeing throughout the year.
Winnipeg is a prairie city with a cosmopolitan feel and is well known for its cultural events and organizations. It is home to a wide variety of festivals, the National Canadian Museum for Human Rights , the Winnipeg Art Gallery which holds the world’s largest public collection of contemporary Inuit Art, the Winnipeg Jets and the Canadian Grey Cup Football Champions, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers!
